About this deal

Overall the recycle times are noticeably slower than the Nikon’s, but for my property photography work, I can deal with the slower recycles.

This baloney means that you can set an offset in the zoom head so that it tends to focus the light more tightly towards the center, or spread it out more than usual. This is a very important function for me, as the creative lighting system Nikon CLS will allow you to take interesting pictures with light sources located in different directions from the camera itself. The inverter (power supply) for the cyan-green electroluminescent (EL) LCD backlight always makes a bit of a whistle when lit.It so happened that I did not have instructions in the kit, which is a definite minus of the configuration. To spoil the ending:Nope, for what I do (wedding photography, and general “strobist” (low-budget wireless flash) …I just don’t think the SB910 is a good investment. That plastic socket is going to last exactly, well, it won't last long on most shooting sets I've been on. One of the most important features in the SB-910 is possibility of command mode for controlling other flashes (Master), as well as operation in slave mode (Slave).

The SB-26 seems rarer on the used market and I have no experience using one - it may also be a good choice. it makes sense to have an RF transmitter with a quick push/touch menu dedicated to the task of controlling your RF flashes rather than entering the camera's menu system each time you need to make adjustments. Of course, the SB-910 seems to be better than the SB-900, but very serious advantage of the SB-900 above the SB-910 is the fact that the SB-900 can turn off thermal protection and sound. Overheating greatly affects the nerves of the photographer and the subjects - in my opinion, this the biggest flaw SB-910. Nikon retain ownership of the Manual and all copies thereof and all related intellectual property rights, and reserves all rights not expressly granted to you under this Agreement.

I know, the WR-10 cost a few bucks but it too serves as a "hands-free" remote shutter fire for those times when you are using slow shutters and needs hands-off shooting or remote firing your camera from a distance. THIS DISCLAIMER CONSTITUTES AN ESSENTIAL PART OF THIS AGREEMENT AND NO USE OF THE MANUAL IS AUTHORIZED EXCEPT UNDER THIS DISCLAIMER. HD Digital Frame is a great way to put your portfolio on display and a great way to surface forgotten memories.

Please Note: The RF Wireless capabilities are only supported on the newer Nikon DSLRs (D850, D500, D4/5, and Z cameras with the optional RF transmitter. Anyways, now if you ever see a Nikon pro out there with the SB910, you can just chuckle and roll your eyes at them a little bit. Because I used the SB-910 for years, I am partial to the flash, and the 910 is a well-respected professional flash, but with all technology advances, the SB 5000 is the next King of Nikon Flash. While the carrying case has grown substantially in size, it now includes pockets for the diffuser and gel holder, the gels, and the stand, all of which are separate from the main flash compartment, thus things don't get all scratched up quite so fast. The simple coding on the gels allows the newer cameras (D3 and D700 at this point) to make white balance adjustments that are correct for the new color of the flash.Yeah, I know that Nikon has kept the recycle time down on the SB900 / SB910, even with the 4 AA batteries compared to the five (possible) batteries of the SB800. Power isn't that important today with high ISOs; you only need the full power of the SB-910 if you're 80 feet (24 meters) away at ISO 100 at f/1. At the same time, neither switching on, nor off, or any other dances with a tambourine will bring the SB-900 to life. My rule of thumb is, if you NEED to pop your flash that much, (wedding receptions) …then maybe it’s time to set up a couple extra off-camera flashes, ehh?
